A family affair, down on the farm.

The Founder

Roxanne McCoy grew up on a fruit and vegetable farm in Ohio and received her Master's degree in horticulture from The Ohio State University. She worked as a cooperative extension agent for Erie County, NY for several years before starting her own cut flower farm, Lilies of the Field, when her first child was born.

The Family

The McCoy family is the force behind the farm. In addition to being a full-time engineer, Tom drives the tractor, runs the irrigation, and many other jobs that wouldn't get done without his tireless efforts. The kids have grown up working on the farm during the growing season and are all proficient weeders, pickers, and slug hunters. Now a third generation is getting their hands dirty helping out on the farm.

The Farmers

Recently, the farm was restructured to welcome the next generation of ownership. Roxanne leads the new ownership group and is joined by her two daughters, Rosalyn and Madeline, and her daughters-in-law, Isobel and Megan. The new ownership team is excited for what the future holds at Lilies of the Field Farm.

The Farm

Lilies of the Field Farm is located on thirteen beautiful acres in West Falls, NY. We grow over 80 species of annual and perennial flowers. Planting begins in March, and the first flowers are harvested in May. Peak season is July and August, but we have flowers until frost, usually sometime in October. In November we have winterberry, and then the seed catalogs come out and we sit inside by the fire and begin planning for another season.
